Dublin, Ireland: The Remarkable Women Project, a nonprofit, global educational organization dedicated to sharing stories about remarkable women to encourage everyone to live more courageously, is hosting its first Remarkable Women Global Summit in Dublin on March 6, 2025.
Supporters of the RW Project from Ireland, America, France, England, Finland and elsewhere, are due to attend the event hosted by the Ringsend and Irishtown Community Centre. Tickets are 15 euro, (plus a 2 euro ticketing fee) with a portion of the proceeds being donated to support the organizations supported by the Centre. Tickets are available now via eventbrite.
Throughout the day, RW Summit attendees will hear from inspirational speakers, engage in thought-provoking discussions, attend a complementary networking lunch, enjoy a musical performance by Ringsend Glee and other inspiring and enriching activities.
“This is an exciting opportunity for everyone to network, learn from local and global speakers and participate in a joyful celebration with scores of remarkable women just two days before International Women’s Day,” said Jane Applegate, executive producer, writer and co-founder of the Remarkable Women Project. “We look forward to gathering together in Ringsend for an empowering daylong experience.”
Applegate and Alice Look, an author, writer and former managing producer for History channel, co-founded the nonprofit Remarkable Women Project in 2023. The founders are passionate about sharing the compelling stories of remarkable women who have had an impact on culture and society throughout history but not been given proper credit. The Remarkable Women’s Project brings their stories to light through books, blogs, social media posts and a global TV series in development, funded in part by Creative Europe.
The women profiled by Look in her bi-monthly Remarkable Women Stories blog on Substack, have overcome tremendous societal, gender and racial barriers to make their mark on the world.
“This in-person event offers a chance to join a supportive community that celebrates the achievements of women locally and globally,” said Look, author of Remarkable Women: Reclaiming Their Stories.
The Summit will be co-hosted by Applegate and Jill Doyle, the Dublin-based chairwoman of the RW Project Advisory Committee. Doyle is the founder and a director at The National Performing Arts School established 30 years ago in Dublin.
Applegate and Doyle will open the Summit with a discussion about the original inspiration for the Remarkable Women Project and the organization’s mission. “It is such a pleasure to be co-hosting this special event celebrating remarkable women from Ireland and beyond,” said Doyle, an actress and acting coach.
Jane Applegate will moderate a midday presentation featuring a conversation between Alice Look and best-selling Irish novelist Nuala O’Connor. O’Connor is the author of Nora, a historical novel about James and Nora Joyce and Seaborne, the tale of Anne Bonny, Ireland most famous female pirate. Look will share stories about Irish women, women featured in her current book, as well as her upcoming book about 30 remarkable women under 40.
O’Connor, one of Ireland’s most beloved authors of historical fiction about women, will discuss her best-selling novel about Nora Barnacle Joyce, Nora, and Seaborne, her novel about Anne Bonny, Ireland’s most famous female pirate who lived a remarkable life in the 18th century.
Other activities throughout the day include:
An opening session about what makes a woman remarkable presented by Judy Guillermo-Newton, an expert in helping non-profit organizations grow and prosper and a Remarkable Women Project board member.
Los Angeles-based life coach Angie Becerra will be offering one-on-one Speed Coaching sessions through the day.
